William Wood Watches - Fire Exit Watch
William Wood Watches - Fire Exit Watch
Stainless steel gun metal grey day date watch inspired by the fire exit sign. Featuring a Swiss-made Sellita SW220 movement that displays the fire exit sign man carrying out a different action for all seven days of the week, fire exit arrow applied indices filled with lume, bezel and glass dial finished in the exact green of a fire sign, running man rotating disc caseback and straps made from British Racing Green fire hose. Beautifully presented in William Wood Watches genuine luxury fire exit sign case that can hold up to 3 watches.
Case Measurements:
The case measures 41mm in diameter, with a 13.5mm thickness and a lug width of 20mm. The watch wears as a medium size on an average wrist.
Lug to Lug:
The lug to lug measurement is 49.5mm. This is an important measurement from the top of the north lug to the bottom of the south lug, allowing you to know how much real estate the watch will take up on your wrist.
Case Execution:
The case is made from 316L grade stainless steel and is finished in a brushed dark gun metal grey. Our glass bezel is unidirectional with a medium smooth strength to each click, and includes printed lume markings. The caseback is screw down with an opening in the shape of a fire exit door, where you can look through to a rotating disc showing a dynamic animation of the fire exit man running away from a fire. The caseback also include the words fire exit using printed lume.
Movement:
Swiss-Made Sellita SW220 Day Date Movement, with a power reserve of up to 41 hours when fully wound, 26 jewels accuracy and 28,800 beats per hour. This is a self winding mechanism with ball bearing and functions include; hours, minutes, sweep second, day and date located at 4pm. For full power reserve Sellita suggests winding the crown 50 times before use.
Day Wheel:
One of the main features of this Fire Exit Watch is of course the fire exit sign man day wheel. The wheel sits below the green glass dial and is finished in C1 grade lume with the fire exit man printed onto the wheel. Each day of the week is represented by the man completing a different action, and included is the first initial of each day of the week in the bottom left hand corner of the date wheel window for complete clarity. The breakdown of all seven days are explained below:
Monday - Late for work
Tuesday - Hard at work
Wednesday - Commuting
Thursday - Exercising
Friday - Thank god it's Friday!
Saturday - Partying
Sunday - Relaxing
Dial Execution:
The dial is finished in the exact pantone colour of a fire exit sign. The dial is made from green glass allowing you to look through to the day date disc that sits below. We have applied fire exit arrow and baton indices which are filled with C1 grade lume. The dial and indices are curved creating layers and depth when the light shines underneath the crystal. The seconds tracks is finished in gun metal grey to match the case with white printed markers.
Crystal:
This Fire Exit Watch is fitted with sapphire crystal that has an applied anti-reflective coating. The glass is completely scratch resistant and finished with an impressive domed curve. The glass is tinted with a medium blue colour paying tribute to William Wood’s 25 years of service on a shift pattern called The Blue Watch for the Newcastle & Gateshead Fire Brigade. The bezel is also finished in glass so which creates a lovely aesthetic and harmony between the crystal and bezel.
Caseback:
The back of the watch features a rotating disc with a dynamic animation of the fire exit sign man running away from a fire. As you turn the watch over you will see a fire exit doorway which you can see directly through the moving disc. It is a very fun element that creates intrigue on both the front and the back of the watch. The caseback also include the words fire exit with printed lume and it is closed with a glass.
Super-LumiNova:
William Wood Watches wanted this watch to illuminate like a fire exit sign at night. So they are using C1 grade lume application and printing on their indices, hands, dial helmet logo, bezel markers, caseback and buckle. The result is an extraordinary watch in the day and the night.
Buckle:
They have created a custom buckle in the shape of a fire exit arrow. The buckle is shaped with the arrow at the base and the tongue that goes through the strap includes the green arrow marker. The green arrow is filled with lume and the buckle is finished in a brushed dark gun metal grey to match the case.
Strap Execution:
The base strap on this Fire Exit Watch is made from British Racing Green fire hose. The hose is sewn into a rubber strap mould with the words 'Made from rescued materials' pressed into the back of it.
The full range of watch straps have a 20mm lug width fitting all of their watch collections. All straps are fitted with quick-release levers allowing you to add and remove any William Wood Watch straps without any additional tools required in just a few seconds.
Strap Measurements:
The fire hose and fire gear straps fit a wrist size between 5.5 and 9.5 inches. They do not currently offer straps for lug sizes outside of 20mm.
Presentation Box:
The Fire Exit Watch comes presented in a genuine Italian leather British racing green presentation box inspired by a fire exit sign. It features a transparent display window that looks directly through to your watch with the words 'Keep Clear Fire Exit'. The case carries up to 3 watches and is a great travel companion.

9. Can I purchase a Helping Hoodie if I am do not work for the FRS?
Unfortunately these products are only available to be purchased by currently serving FRS personal or retired FRS personal and a password will be required to place the order. (This password can be obtained form the your FRS internal communications team) We do however still sell our Firefighters Charity hoodies which are available for all general public to purchase also.
10. I can't see my FRS as an option for the Helping hoodies?
This will mean that we have not yet had permission from your Brigade to use your FRS badge on the hoodies. The best way to help us speed this up is drop your internal communications team an email asking for them to grant the Charity permission to do so as we would be happy to provide badged hoodies to all of our UK based FRS.
